What is an endorsement in motor vehicle insurance?

If the insured's personal information or the conditions of the motor vehicle insurance policy change. The policyholder must provide documented proof of the same. In the world of automobile insurance, such pieces of proof are referred to as endorsements.

When is an endorsement required?

Endorsement is written confirmation of a policy change that has been agreed upon. It's a document that reflects modifications to the policy's provisions. If any changes to the policy are required, the client must contact the Motor Insurance Company to make the necessary changes. This is accomplished by a letter of recommendation.

At the time of insurance issuance, an endorsement may be provided to offer extra advantages and coverage (e.g., legal obligation to the driver) or to impose restrictions. The tariff specifies the phrasing of the endorsements. After then, an endorsement may be granted to register changes such as a change of residence, a change of name, a change of vehicle, and so on.
